These apple cider donut bars are soft, hot, spicy and full of apple cider flavor. Reducing apple cider in the flour makes all the difference.
If you do this on the stove, it should take about 10 minutes over a low boil
Make sure you are using a container that is twice the amount of apple cider you are reducing, as it boils too vigorously.
Ingredients for Apple Cider Donut Bars – 1 cup (240 grams) apple cider – cup (113 grams) unsalted butter – cup (100 grams) brown sugar – 1 large egg – 1 tsp vanilla extract – 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon – tsp ground nutmeg – ground cloves – tsp baking powder – tsp salt – cup (50 grams) rolled oats – 1 cup (125 grams) all purpose flour – 1 Tbsp (14 g) unsalted butter, melted (for brushing on top) – 2 Tbsp (22 g) granulated or turbinado sugar (for sprinkling on top)

To freeze, wrap the cooled bars in plastic wrap and store in a freezer bag for up to 3 months
Thaw at room temperature for one hour or in the microwave for 30 seconds before serving
